Pastor Roosevelt Lasker Biograph
Roosevelt Lasker is the Pastor of Greater Mt. Zion M.B.C located in Brookshire, TX. Pastor Lasker is married to Sarah (Johnson) Lasker. They both were born and raised in Brookshire/Sunnyside, TX where they attended and graduated from Royal High School. After graduation they both begin working and starting their new lives together as a family.

Pastor Lasker initially accepted God as his Lord and Savior at what was known as the mourning bench at Mt. Zion M.B.C at a young age of 7 years old. He later asked for a personal relationship with God during his teenage years when him and his now wife started dating. He truly believes that Sarah was an instrument in him becoming closer with God. He begun leading his family solely from the word of God by reading and studying the Bible daily. He still attended Mt. Zion M.B.C where he and Sarah also got married. Pastor Lasker would go on to teach Sunday school and lead the Brotherhood and Outreach ministry. He served at Mt. Zion a little over 10 years where he lasted served as Chairman of the Deacon board and assisted with the onboarding of leaders and Pastors.

Pastor Lasker has humbly submitting himself under the authority of God throughout his spiritual journey. He assured that he had complete direction from God before moving forward in all he does. God’s next move for the Lasker family begin with the start of Greater Mt. Zion M.B.C under the leadership of Pastor F.A. Rollins. Pastor Lasker has served with Greater Mt. Zion for 27 years. During these 27 years God also called him to preach the gospel and received his certificate of license for the Gospel Ministry on November 2, 1997. He was ordained as Pastor on September 8, 2019 and officially installed as Pastor of Greater Mt. Zion M.B.C. on January 19, 2020.

Pastor Lasker’s vision for the Brookshire and surrounding area is to promote love and purpose. He believes that it is the heart of God that will bring unbelievers to Christ and believers even closer to His goodness, faithfulness, and glory!

Greater Mt. Zion MBC is a church founded on 1 Corinthians 16:14, “Do everything in love.” Love drives out fear and shows us how to live a life pleasing to God. God gave us directions on how to treat each other through love because it never fails. GMZ understands how powerful love pierces the soul and changes lives. With love, is how we serve one other at GMZ. We know that we are imperfect beings striving for a deeper understand of ourselves and our God-giving purpose on Earth. It is our responsibility here at GMZ to make sure every individual who walks into our doors feel loved and not judged. God gave His people instructions as His sons, daughters, and disciples to love one another above all other things and to share the good news of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection.

So no matter what you’re currently facing or how deep in sin you may feel you’re in, here at GMZ we want you to know that we are here to help build up your spiritual life. It is not good to do life alone. We have created a safe place for all believers with all backgrounds to come in as you are, feel the love of God through His people, and ultimately feel the Spirit of God working in you and around you. One visit at a time. One prayer at a time. One praise at a time. One word at a time. One day at a time is all we believe it takes for God to move tremendously in your life to increase your faith and hope in God.

Our prayer is that this open invitation touches your heart and that you allow the Holy Spirit to flow freely into your life, so that God would pour out blessings that are edifying to His glory and nurturing to your soul. Without love it is impossible to please God! So it is our duty to serve you with open arms and a whole heart.
